Oatlands, Glasgow

Floor pattern brickwork and sculptural beacon on a large new public space in Glasgow’s east end, 2021

Created in collaboration with ERZ Landscape Architects we have created patterns and forms for a new landmark and public space at a key gateway to the evolving Oatlands residential district, near Richmond Park in Glasgow. A key component of the commission has been the consultation and dialogue with the local community, Glasgow City Council and the client team.

We created a brick paving pattern inspired by the architecture of the surrounding area. Two beacon structures and seating are centered in the space and take the shape of sails and boat hulls inspired by the boating pond nearby.
