Bespoke Atelier is a textile design and print studio based in Glasgow, Scotland. They produce luxurious screen-printed and digital fabric for interiors, fashion and theatre markets.
The beginnings of Bespoke Atelier took root in autumn 2005, when Marion Parola and Yvonne Elliott first met as students of the Textile Design BA at the Glasgow School of Art. Specializing in embroidery and print, respectively, each graduated with honours before taking up the Master of Design in Fashion + Textiles the following year. With both now focussing on printed textile design, Yvonne and Marion spent their graduate studies perfecting the practice the pair continue today as Bespoke Atelier.
The first major turning point for Bespoke Atelier came whilst Yvonne and Marion were still completing their studies at GSA: in 2010, they entered for and, after impressing the judges with their business plan, won the Deustche Bank Award, which provided the financial kick the pair needed to get Bespoke Atelier up and running. After outfitting their studio with comprehensive screen-printing facilities, the duo quickly got to work on their mission to create custom-designed textiles, quickly expanding their practice to include printing on a variety of surfaces.
Bespoke Atelier design their textiles to make an impact, but equally to complement and enhance the products on which they appear. By working with digital printing bureaus and local manufacturers in conjunction with their own screen-printing facilities, Bespoke Atelier are able to utilise a mixture of techniques and processes to create unique printed textiles for clients in a variety of industries. This, along with their own in-house designs and products, proves Bespoke Atelier to be a successful textile design startup that has come out of the gate running.
